Christmas Vacation for Moonbabies
January 28, 2008 – 1:57 pmHappy 2008 from everyone here at Moonbabies!
For the first time in 15 years, I spent Christmas vacation in warm weather in the wild city of Miami & a short stop in Key West. As a designer, I look for inspiration wherever I go and I must admit that I came away from my time in Miami with a whole lot more inspiration than when I return from Vermont !
What a vibrant and fun city! Color was everywhere and for a gal that spends a lot of time in New York city where Black is the regulation color, I was dazzled. The people are colorful, the buildings are colorful, the cars are colorful and yes, even the pets are colorful…I actually saw several dogs that had been dyed lovely pastel colors. Ok, that is when inspiration left and the urgent need to get back to a place where they simply dress dogs in colorful outfits took over.
As an astute observer of fashion, I was struck by the number of women that were walking around in 5″ heels…I mean, I love Sex in the City as much as the next gal, but to actually wear shoes like that everyday must set women’s evolution back several decades, no??
As soon as vacation was over, the Trade Show season begins so it was off to Atlanta for the Gift Show. Another bustling city, however, since we work the show 8 hours a day there is not much time to enjoy the city. Moonbabies was very well received and despite the doom and gloom warnings about the economy, we had a great show.
Our new line of “Readers & Chains” blew out! I guess the whole world is over 40 and can’t read without “help” anymore. Be sure to check out this new collection
The other new product that did very well was he Moonbaby Holder. For those of you who have to wear glasses or an I.D. badge but don’t want to wear it around your neck, you can wear this whimsical “pin” that doubles as a “holder”.
We are also very excited about the new Collection of Moonbabies products that we have designed for St. Jude’s Hospital. This is an amazing organization that helps thousands of sick children. We are honored to be affiliated with them.
Please feel free to let us know what you are thinking.. Positive, negative or otherwise, not that it will change anything we do, but we love to get feedback!!! Just kidding.
